Europe Member Companies
The highest level of executive in the organization must champion CQM membership. Members must be willing to share openly what they learn as they put theory into practice. To facilitate Mutual Learning, members commit to learn a common approach to improving the quality of their management systems.

About the Central Europe Chapter

Value Proposition of CQM Central Europe:

The Center for Quality of Management (CQM) was founded in 1989 by senior industrial executives as non-profit organisation. The Center for Quality of Management Central Europe is the European chapter of CQM, founded by Senior Executives of European Organisations. CQM's overall membership totals more than 100 companies worldwide.

The CQM is for organisations committed to change where CEOs and Executives, utilizing TQM, desire/need a forum for sharing best practices, successes and failures. Unlike other organisations offering quality improvement programs, our organisation offers a forum for sharing and mutual learning in a trusted, open environment with the benefit that members can focus on their "vital few" strategic issues, using a common language and member-proven practices, to improve their business results.

Top line:

Our mission is to provide a forum for Mutual Learning - driven and supported by senior executives - for European member organisations. We achieve this by using a common language, leading edge methods and sharing best practices to improve our management and business performance for global competitiveness.

Key elements of CQM Central Europe's approach:

The use of a common language and a shared set of tools and practices that increases the capacity of senior executives – and employees at all levels within and across different companies – to work together more effectively and more quickly and to make your company more profitable.

An Integrated Management System, based on a foundation of TQM, that enables executives to use leading-edge methodologies as needed in the key areas of planning, operations and managing change. This approach enables companies to integrate new methods into their existing management systems and avoid the "solution du jour."

Mutual Learning is a key driver of all CQM courses, activities, and events. Senior executives identify new methodologies to research, then work together to integrate them into existing systems and implement them in their own organisations. They also work together to develop CQM courses and teach them to their peers.

Accelerated "time-to-learning and implementation" through the use of senior executives as faculty in several CQM courses. In CQM's Mutual Learning courses, the faculty has direct experience implementing new methodologies and best practices. Course participants consistently report a higher credibility level and faster time-to-learning than in traditional courses.

Provide a Mutual Learning Community where executives can work and learn together on an ongoing basis.

History:

Created in January, 1997, by the CEOs and senior executives of nine European organisations to promote executive Mutual Learning. Hewlett-Packard and Analog Devices were the catalysts in forming the European chapter. CQM was originally founded in 1989 by senior executives from seven major corporations in the U.S.A. These companies included Analog Devices, Inc., Bolt, Beranek and Newman, Inc., Bose Corporation, Digital Equipment Corporation, GE Aircraft Engine Division, Polaroid Corporation, and Teradyne, Inc.

Why CQM Central Europe is unique:

CQM Europe members are corporations, not individuals. Each corporation is represented by a senior executive engaged in change management within their company.

Studying and teaching are key roles for senior managers - senior managers and executives from member companies help develop and teach CQM courses.

CQM Europe members engage in cross-functional networking with other member companies.

CQM Europe members share information on management systems and often attend courses together to diffuse best practices to all member companies.
